Meet the founder

David Chavez is the founder of Elevate Communications Group and currently serves as Director of Communications for Kaneland Community Unit School District 302, where he leads districtwide communications, media relations, digital strategy, and community engagement.

With more than 18 years of professional communications experience, including 16 years at Verizon Wireless, David has worked in high-stakes environments where clarity, trust, and effective messaging were essential.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of New Mexico, with a minor in Psychology, and has completed advanced graduate-level coursework in marketing, economics, and business strategy through the University of Illinois Gies College of Business.

In K–12 education, David has overseen comprehensive communications systems across digital platforms, crisis response, and major district initiatives — including a successful $140 million school facilities referendum.

Through Elevate Communications Group, David partners with school districts, private schools, and nonprofits that need experienced communications leadership without the cost of a full department, helping organizations build trust, improve engagement, and communicate with confidence.
